Para ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and email associated with that account.

Captured Text: When you use Para to extract text from book pages, the captured text and associated metadata (timestamp, detection mode) are stored in your account for sync and history purposes.

Usage Data: We collect basic usage metrics such as capture count to improve the service.

Device Information: We may collect device type and OS version for debugging and compatibility purposes. We do not collect precise location data.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and maintain the Para service
• To sync your captured text across devices
• To improve the service
• To send transactional emails (password resets, account confirmations)

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication tokens are stored securely in your device's Keychain. Detection parameters are delivered via AES-256-GCM encryption.

Your Rights

• Access: You can view your captured text and account information within the app.
• Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings > Delete Account. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
• Export: You can share or copy your captured paragraphs from within the app.

Children's Privacy

Para is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Para after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
