Book Paragraph Capture
Getting Started
Para detects sticky note tabs, highlights, and underlines on your book pages and extracts the paragraph text they point to.
- Open a book and mark passages with sticky tabs, highlighter, or underline
- Point your camera at the page
- Para detects the markers in real-time
- Tap capture to extract the text
Detection Modes
- Sticky Tag Pointer — Detects colored sticky note tabs on page edges
- Highlight Detection — Finds highlighted text passages
- Underline Detection — Detects underlined text
- Full Page Capture — Captures all text on the visible page
You can switch modes in Settings (gear icon, top right).
Tips for Best Results
- Use good lighting — avoid shadows on the page
- Hold the camera steady and parallel to the page
- Ensure the full page is visible in the frame
- For sticky tabs, make sure the tab extends past the page edge
- For highlights, use standard fluorescent highlighters
Account & Data
You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email. Your captured paragraphs sync across devices when signed in.
To delete your account and all data, go to Settings > Delete Account. This action is permanent.
Troubleshooting
- Camera not working: Check that Para has camera permission in iOS Settings > Privacy > Camera
- Tags not detected: Ensure the sticky tab has color contrast against the white page and extends past the edge
- Text not accurate: Try improving lighting and holding the camera more steadily
